Reuters reported Osama bin Laden's first video in almost three years has drawn enthusiastic support from al Qaeda supporters. Osama bin Laden described the United States as vulnerable, a message some of his followers saw as a sign a new operation might be approaching.

Why do those that think America's aggressiveness inspires terrorism when each and every time we see these reports that it is clear that terrorists target our weakness and lack of resolve. It is just the opposite than what they claim. These same people had to grow up as children being well aware how bullies pick on the weak but they now deny it happens.

The fact that we arrest and imprison bad people doesn't create more bad people. Why does those people claiming passiveness prevents terrorism have such short-circuited logic? Why are they not arguing to free criminals in our prisons to protect the masses?

I feel we are living in a country comprised of the logical and illogical where the illogical blames the police for the criminals behavior. Makes no sense and the following of such illogical concepts is even more surprising. This is all hidden by a Politically Correct excuse that makes one feel good on the inside while endangering others, in my opinion.

Why is weakness and lack of resolve good for us?

To 'bitten off more than they can chew,' I think many believe, and still do, it wasn't at all about "teaching a lesson" but survival. That's how many think here in America instead of being the policemen of the world as so many have misunderstood. We overreact intentionally because it has kept us safe and not to be a bully over other bullies.

I agree with a lot of what you've written. Too many critics of United States foreign policy try to disingenuously frame the issue of the war on terror as the United States trying to be a "bully". They selectively choose to ignore the irrefutable list of radical Islamic terrorist attacks around the world that date back at least to the early 70's (Remember Munich 1972?)

On the other hand, a lot of their criticisms against the United States response to terrorist threats and activities are based on speculation and conspiracy theories.

I think the U.S. has grossly underestimated the enemy because of it's over inflated ego, and now have bitten off more than it could chew.
