I am a person whom has lived with this urge for over 15 years, I am all grown up now and have a great family that I have obviously raised right because they are like my biggest fans ever. They are the ones telling me to go for it. I am very comfortable right now and though I am not scared, I am hesitant. I am not sure where to begin, everytime I think I have this on the back burner something keeps drawing me in...I feel like this dream of mine is haunting me.....Thanks T

A good place to start would probably be community theatre, so you can get some experience on your resume. Maybe even find someone in your town who is doing a short film, or a student film, and needs some actors. That'll get you even more good experience, depending on which area, film or theatre, you're going into. Also contact some casting agencies, try to get an agent, but get some headshots done first so you have something to show them. Just work as hard as you can if this is truly your dream. (I'm guessing you're older, as you have a family and such, so a lot of roles will be open to you). After a while, you'll be fine. Wherever you live, there could be a program or school that posts auditions for films that will be filmed in your town or close to you, and you could use that, and go for an audition. Even just to be an extra, as to join any union, you need at least 24 hours of background work.
Anyway hope that helped, and good luck! Maybe we'll be seeing you soon. ;)

You could go for cold auditions aka cattle calls or contact a casting agency they would want you to go and get some head shots done so that they would have them on file to send out to perspective employer's.........you also have the option of doing community theater there are some where you get paid but most are volunteer work...
