Depends on you parentage. If your father was an Italian citizen, you go on the fast track to Italian citizenship. If it was only your mother, it can take a long time to become a citizen. And this paternal lineage is in the Italian constitution, you can't do a thing about it. If both your parents were citizens, then you should apply for citizenship. But I think you will still have to complete a residency requirement.
