well I think it all depends on what you are asking and who happens to stumble upon your question.
Personally I like to give a decent answer its kind of a waste of my time and yours if I give a yes or no answer and doesnt help at all.
Now if the subject is one that I know a great deal about then Im inclined to go on and on and on because I like to share my personal knowledge and experience with others.
If however on the other hand the question is something totally foreign to me and a subject area that I know nothing about then I will either give the limited amount of knowledge that I have on the subject and leave it at that OR I will endeavor to do a good old web search and do my best to find what I think is the best and most qualified answer for you.
Occasionally there will be more than one suitable web site available to answer your question so i will then offer a list of sites which you can go through at your leisure and choose which one suits your needs the best.
If the question is a personal one and its not a silly question I will make a real effort to be sincere and give you my personal advice or suggestion from the heart and I guess its up to you whether you want to take my advice or not.
I actually try hard not to tell people what to do on any given situation and just make helpful suggestions instead I think its a bit dangerous to just TELL people to do things because at the end of the day I only know as much information as you have told me and the real picture could be quite different so its a delicate matter sometimes depending on the subject.
I always try to be honest though and I dont try to hide who I am or what I believe in.
I am also dyslexic and for me to write a long answer is a real challenge because I read my answer over many times to correct it and even then I am sure I still have mistakes which my dyslexic eyes have missed.
So those are my thoughts on giving answers to people, hope I stumble on one of your questions again and hopefully it is not a dissapointing experience for you.

Perhaps its the way you ask a question. If you're looking for more serious answers, frame your question before you ask it. Make sure that you have all the necessary information included to allow people to give you a good answer. Don't assume that everyone knows all the details about the question you are asking. Don't ask half a question. Stay away from cutesy spellings. Poor grammar and spelling invites bogus answers, because the person answering figures that if you can't write, you probably won't understand a proper answer anyway. This is not to make light of your abilities, but to remind you that when your writing is all there is, people make judgments on your abilities based on your writing.

Some people do..... just to get points, but most of the questions I have asked get a few decent answers. The trick is in the title! You need something to entice people to actually read the question in the first place.

no, there are people seriously answering questions, some are answering based on their moods at that time, some based their answer on the kind of questions, some just doesn't know what they are talking about

I try to answer them completely. Usually you get at least 1 really good answer and that's all you need.
