Every day or every twice day change wet bedding, since hamsters often use only one place for toilet, it will help. Or try another bedding, for example pellets like Yesterday's news get stinky much slower than wood shavings.
Or maybe your hamster can have diarrhoea, that often stinks. I would advice to visit vet if it last more than 1-2 days.

Firstly if you are using woodchip/sawdust then swap it for a product called carefresh. Sawdust does not illiminate the smell of hamster urine and gives off a toxic vapour when hamster wee on it. carefresh is super absorbant and stops the cage from smelling altogether.

I use a disinfectant spray especially designed for small animal cages. All good pet stores sell them. The spray is quick and easy to use, destroys all harmful germs and infections that your hamster can catch from a dirty cage, and leaves a soft fragrance in the cage.

Clean the cage once a week, but where your hamster is peeing just remove the soiled area once every few days and replace with fresh bedding.

If you're cleaning the cage at least once a week and he still stinks, I'd take him to the vet.

For cleaning, dump out all the old bedding, food, waste. Wash all cage parts in hot soapy water (dish soap), and rinse very well. Dry everything very thoroughly. Add fresh bedding (we like CareFresh bedding). Make sure the water bottle isn't dripping, and don't give him too much food at once - he'll just bury any extra.

Good luck.
