A lot of times children suffer ridicule because of the clothes they wear, you know the popular girls make fun of them and then the kids are sad and cry and stuff, and so they become shy reserved scared to speak in defense of themselves, and concentrate less on education, with uniform that whole making fun of looks and clothes thing is eliminated the kids are a lot happier and have nothing better to do then pay attention.

School uniforms put everyone on the same "playing" level. The "rich" kids wear the same as the other kids. They don't have to be concerned about the $300 designer jeans vs. the $30 ones. There are no big distractions by what kids have on. Hopefully, the time used to deal with clothing issues, can be used for education. People who don't have a lot of disposable income can buy two or three outfits not 5 or 10. Kids cannot wear the same thing during the week.

The question is often asked about public schools requiring uniforms. I say, "WHY NOT?"

Uniforms try to make students blend in together. It eliminates a lot of hassle between the students and the teachers. This eliminates most of the dress codes they have with out the uniforms, such as poor taste in clothing, wearing cloths too low, skimping, revealing clothing, etc. It takes away individualism, but dose help bring order to the school system.
Some kids are picked on because of the clothes they have to wear. This eliminates that. All things considered, it's a good thing.

Because it makes everyone equal. All schools teach numerous students from different social classes, so if the students wore clothes that represent their status, there would surely be discrimination.

I have been told it puts all the kids on an equal playing field. They aren't distracted by other kids clothes and you don't have some kids wearing 'cool' clothes, while others can't afford them.
