for doing what he/she did, maybe treating you badly, leaving you or cheating on you to be with someone else? How long did it take and what happened?

YES.. after 3 years. I forgave him but made it clear to him that my forgiving him does not mean we're getting back together.
We both have moved on. Now we're in good terms

The court made him write a letter of apology for grabbing me when the police came to the house because I called due to a disagreement.

to this day I have not gotten an appology of any sort from my ex don't think I ever will (not that I'm expecting one) even after he hit me and emotionally abused me but I have learned it is easier to forgive and never forget as that is the easiest thing I can do

my ex left me for another guy and now he is flirting with my new boy friend and every time he says sorry he does somthing extreme.(like spanks him and says "they say you should only do that on the football field but i think wrong cuz were CLOSE friends VERY close" then he winks at him!)

i got an apology 3years after the fact and you know what, it didn't mean a d@mn thing. he obviously only gave it to make himself feel better.
