UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE WEEKLY CLAIMS REPORT

SEASONALLY ADJUSTED DATA

In the week ending Sept. 1, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 318,000, a decrease of 19,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 337,000. The 4-week moving average was 325,750, an increase of 500 from the previous week's revised average of 325,250.

Roughly 300,000 each week are filling and that means about 1.2 million people losing jobs compared to the 24,000 created it seems like the economy is really in the dumper these days despite everything cons try to say about it .

Yeah. by that logic, we should be around 18 percent unemployment.

But...last I checked, it was around 4.6 percent, lower than when your boy Clinton won an election claiming "It's the economy, stupid."

The "unemployment" figures don't count those that either do not qualify or have opted out of the workforce for some reason. Early retirement and regular retirement do not count as unemployment. Coilleg students that are not working, or that work part-time aren't counted. Welfare recipients that have never worked, or that have not worked at any job do not qualify for unemployment compensation and are not counted

That 300,000 are not new filings they also include ongoing filings. The problem with using Unemployment filings is that when someone runs out of benefits they drop off the number of unemployed even though they haven't gotten a new job...........
