why let the question go to some crappy answer as best answer.
It sucks when someone gives an answer they pull out of their butt, and they vote themselves best answer.

Of course but only if I still think my answer is the best. I am pretty sure everyone running for office votes for himself. How is this any different? If the system allows you to do it with your own ID then it is legal. You can't give yourself a thumbs up.

[I always do that, every time I see one of my questions is in-voting. I was going to ask this question, but I thought "Oh no, some people who don't do this will start doing it and there will be less of a chance of me getting best answer." That's just greedy ol' me. I once got 40pts in 10 minutes from doing that. It was so cool!]

Honestly, I've done that once or twice. I did it an additional time I forgot it was my answer, and my vote got me 10 points. Otherwise, I earn best answers. I want to be proud of 361 best answers.

Sometimes when mine is the only answer and the asker still puts it to a vote. Whats up with that anyway?

I don't think there is a person that HASN'T truthfully. That's one of the reasons people need to pick their own best answer for their questions!

I do it all the time, but only if I believe my answer is the best. I don't consider it cheating, because everybody has the same opportunity.
