CO2 is a greenhouse gas. It traps heat.

More CO2 ==> Increased temperature

Biological processes are catalyzed by enzymes. Enzymes have a narrow range of temperature for activity. A change in temperature would result in many changes in the biological processes.

Carbondioxide is one of the "green house gases".It is a good absorber of IR radiation.If its presence in the atmosphere exceeds a certain limit,it will absorb more heat which will lead to Global Warming.
Further, if it reaches the lower stratosphere,it will destroy the ozone layer which protects us from the harmful effects of the ultra-violet radiation.
