Do you think that 12 is too young to have a cell phone? i just got mine yesterday . Its a Telus Camera phone .. by LG. I'm not gonna rack up the money , or text like crazy but ill use it to call my mom if i have to . or if i need to call someone and its important .. that type of thing.
I'm really excited and happy i've got it , i carry it around with me EVERYWHERE. But some of my friends are saying , "God your only 12" What do you think?

12 is a good age to start.

You seem to be a mature young woman, that your mom trusts to have one. I do think that people your age should not be given expensive phones, because it doesn't serve a great purpose, while you're still in middle school. Though, I firmly believe all of this is much more dependent on the maturity of the person, rather than the age.

No I dont think you are too young. My daughter is also 12 and she has her own phone. It is a good way for her and I to keep in touch, when she is at a friends house, riding her bike or wherever she may be. She has a busy extra-curricular schedule and my job schedule is hectic so having a cell phone is a great way for us to keep in touch. But there are rules. She knows where and when are appropiate times to use the phone and not to answer the phone to numbers she does not know. I check her phone usage every month on my bill and there has never been a problem. So use it wisely and there shouldnt be a problem

No problem here. Could come in handy with all the creeps around. But what do you really need it for? Of course, you will pay for the minutes used. Enjoy, but don't abuse. Talk to loud when using in public. I'm tired of people screaming into their phone. Don't need to hear their conversation. If they were in a pay phone and I was standing around listening to them talk they would be calling the police.

I got a cell phone at 12 and alot of people in 6th grade have cell phones, i got mine at 7th grade(12 )
but its good to have a cell phone especially if your going somewhere, your parents can call you and know your safe, its just bad if you take it to school and have it on and it rings in classes

If you are responsible, and you have the phone for a) contacting your parents, and/or for b) emergency use only. Then no, you're not too young. Alot of parents work and want to be able to reach their children and vise-versa. Don't worry about what others say and don't feel you need to explain it to them. Just be responsible, do not abuse the privilege.

12 is the right age to get a phone. Don't worry about what your friends think.

I don't think that it is too young.
If it is something you think would be good for you,
then it shouldn't be up to your friends to judge.
Mostly likely they are just a little jealous.
I was when my frineds all got cell phone before I did.
I never admitted it, but I was constently asking my
parents for one. (:
Just try not to show it off to much untill you friends get
use to it. And they will eventually, promise.
(:
