Modulus of a number is positive, therefore:-
| 6 - 2x | > 10
6 - 2x > 10
- 2x > 4
2x < - 4
x < - 2

6 - 2x < - 10
- 2x < - 16
2x > 16
x > 8

Answer is x < - 2 , x > 8

x is any real number...

any absolute value is greater than or equal to zero..

therefore, it is always greater than a negative number...

also..

|6-2x| > -10

therefore,

6-2x > -10 or 6 - 2x < 10
x < 8 or x > -2

any number is either less than 8 or greater than -2

its either (6-2x) > -10 or (6-2x) < -(-10)

so, 16>2x or -4<2x
so, x<8 or x>-2

squaring both sides to get rid of the modulus sign,

(|6-2x|)^2 > 100
36 -24x + 4x^2 > 100
9 - 6x + x^2 > 25
x^2 -6x -16 > 0
therefore
x>8 and x<-2

Any absolute value is going to be greater than -10, so it's indeterminate. Just pull a number out of the air and plug it in. Then try another one.

when removing the modulus signs the inequality becomes;
+(6-2x)>-10........{1} and -(6-2x)>-10.............{2}
solving...{1}
6-2x>-10...add 2x both sides that becomes..6>2x-10
add 10 both sides 16>2x then divide by 2
x<8

solving....{2}
-6+2x>-10...add 6 both sides thaat becomes 2x>-4
divide both sides by 2
x<-2
final answer is -2
