one day Saddam was a close friend to the US ,next morning the americans are hanging him .
i say the Iraq invasion is a multi goal operation :
1-securing the Israeli borders
2-securing the gulf oil from Saddam
3-stabilizing the oil prices ,as Saddam started to manipulate them
4-no harm if Bush's companies achieve some multi billion reconstruction and security contracts in the region
in my opinion it was all about benefits ,not the democracy and terrorism b**** s****t .

The events of 9/11 dramatized and raised people's consciousness about the threat of terrorism to the US, not to mention other Western countries.
As a result, the US and others decided to take a proactive stance against terrorism, beginning with actions against the Taliban in Afghanistan which harbored the attackers. Following this, it was decided to bring down another terrorist government, the one in Iraq. [As a direct result, another terrorist state, Libya, decided to give up its WMD.]
Of course, once you have removed a country's government, it would be unconscionable to leave the place in anarchy. For the sake of the general population, those who removed the government are obligated to install a new government and make sure it is stable before leaving. [This is the "Pottery Barn" doctrine: you break it, you buy it.]
For the sake of other countries as well as the Iraqi population, it is important that the new government not be another terrorist state.

JOHN EDWARDS, EVAN BAYH AS WELL.
THEY SAW THE SAME INTELLIGENCE REPORTS AS PRESIDENT BUSH.
ALL OF THESE PEOPLE SAID SADDAM DID HAVE WMDS. IT IS ON RECORD.
HE GASSED 180,000 OF HIS OWN PEOPLE AND THERE WERE MANY THAT HAD THEIR HEADS, HANDS, FEET CHOPPED OFF ON HIS ORDERS. SOME BURIED ALIVE.
THESE ARE HELPLESS BABIES, CHILDREN, WOMEN, AND MEN.
HE WAS A CRUEL DICTATOR AND THAT IS WHY THE IRAQS SHOWED UP 90% STRONG ON VOTING DAY VOTING FOR THEIR INDEPENDENCE.
GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR WONDERFUL, COURAGEOUS AND BRAVE TROOPS.
