I hear alot about how the US is adding several thousand people per year to its population and how thats affecting our traffic and oil dependence problems.
But how come i don't hear about how many people die in the US to put things into the proper perspective?

The United States, at a population of over 291 million, is the world's third most populous country, after China and India, and has the highest population growth rate of all industrialized countries.

Each year there are approximately 4 million births in the U.S. and 2.4 million deaths. The growth due to natural increase (total births minus deaths) is therefore 1.6 million per year. Yet according to the Census Bureau's decennial census, U.S. population is growing by approximately 3.3 million per year. (Immigration)

Because the media likes to make it one-sided to seem a lot worst.

Birth rate:
14.16 births/1,000 population (2007 est.)
Death rate:
8.26 deaths/1,000 population (2007 est.)
Net migration rate:
3.05 migrant(s)/1,000 population (2007 est.)

so, in total, we get 18.21 people coming here per 8.26 that die.

So, it's unbalanced by about 10.
