2. Sarah drives from point a to point b at an average speed of 55 miles per hr. If the distance is 135 miles, how long will the trip take? My answer: 2 1/2 hrs.
3.A cake recipe serves 4 people,and calls for 1.5 cups of flour and 2.5 cups of sugar. Andre searches his cupboards and finds 3.5 cups of flour and 10.25 cups of sugar. If he uses the recipe to bake the largest cake possible with these ingredients,how many people will it serve? My answer: is 8 people,because he can only double the recipe once cause he doesn't have enough flour to double it a third time.

1. 84 x .15 = $12.60

2. 55 mph = 0.916666666666 mp minute

135 / .916666666666 = 147.2727 = 2 hours 27 minutes and 16.5 seconds

3. he has enough flour and sugar to make 2 1/3 times the amount and 2 1/3 times the amount serves 9 1/3 people so 9 people

I agree with the first two answers but number 3 is solved by the proportion:

1.5/4 = 3.5/x
x= 3.5*4/1.5 =9.333 say 9 people
this means take 2 1/4 times the recipe
