I totally agree with you. I've often wondered what that meant too. If I can't eat it, then just don't give me the bloody cake!

Well, if it's your birthday and you have allergies, it'd be for the guests. My son had none of the big sheet cake we bought for his first birthday last Monday... for that very reason.

Maybe you bake, or buy, it for someone else. But apart from that, you're supposed to eat it or it'll go stale and mouldy and be no good to anyone.
