what is the best small town in NJ?

i live in toms river NJ. i want to move to a smaller town in NJ within an hour driving time of middletown, monmouth county. i am looking for a small town with farms, good schools, nice people, and not crowded. also it will need at least one rental complex for apartments. i have two small kids so the school is really important. thanks all.

I had to live in New Jersey for two years. I was VERY glad to leave!

My experience was that rentals were very difficult to find, less than ideal, and very expensive. We searched all over central NJ and finally settled on the "lesser of all evils".
