These are well-circulated bills that a family member brought home to the US after a trip to Europe about 30-yrs ago. I asked if they had value at the currency exchange at our airport. I had to wake up the clerk and she wasn't helpful ("we only exchange Euros and yen..."). What can I do with them?

I don't know about the Polish note but, you should be able to exchange the pound notes. Go to your local bank, if they will not exchange them they will refer you to someplace that you can. At present rates, the pound notes would be worth about $4. I checked the web about the Polish note. Unfortunately it appears as if you have nothing more than a souvenir I would guess it's only worth about 10 cents. Sorry, I hope I've been of assistance to you though.
