It has been speculated that the EU wants time to be changed to metric. 1 Second to 1 Milliday, 1 Minute to 1 Centiday, 1 Hour to 1 Deciday (or Millimonth), 1 Day to 1 Day, 1 Week to 1 Decaday, 1 Month 1 Hectoday and 1 Year to 1 Kiloday ???

How on earth will that work? A month of Sundays would now be "A Hectoday of Decidays"?

Is it wise to stay in the EU?

Very amusing. But please don't be so cruel. There are plenty of people on Y!A who are stupid enough to believe you.

Time, though relative, works fine in its actual scale. Time; however is also measured in milliseconds, so we already use time in metric (if this makes sense at all).
I can just guess from the structure of your question that there are no bases whatsoever for your argument because,.
Metric is a measure of Space not time, the scale; however is called imperial or International measurement scale.
It's interesting however that you bring this question to the forum. If you take for example the more accurate clocks world wide these would be the atomic clocks where it's time depends on the "life" of a particle which is usually measured in something much smaller than milliseconds. However changing the t60 scale for time to base 10 is something that wouldn't be reliable because for macroscopic effects, the day (the time takes the Earth to do a whole revolution) is better divided in units of 6. That way you may have 4 times per day Morning/afternoon/night/dawn -better appreciated in equatorial countries. hence, even when the minimal unit of time is in "metric" as you called it, the day division exists because is the minimal amount of time that the human brain is capable of differentiate. Is the same thing than with sound, that even when the minimum difference is 1 dB the scale of loudness is divided in base 3 (3dB, 6dB, etc) because is the minimal difference that the brain can handle. So, if you want to use Anti EU propaganda my advice is that at least you are capable of understand what you are talking about and please, try to use better arguments than the one you used here. Take care Mate!

I dont think it would work, People would just get confused. After the French Revolution they Invented a New Calendar to Reflect the New Era of Liberty in France, everybody got mixed up it was a good Idea but it did not Work out. They did not know the Months anymore and could not carry on trade and keep Appointments and the Foreigners were even worse off in trying to trade with the French, they got mixed up with their Brumaire, and Floreals.

Even in their maddest moments of bureaucracy, I don't think they would suggest anything so daft. The 24hr, 365 system is ancient for a very good reason, it works!

This smacks of being an urban myth, or anti EU fairy story!

The E.U. doesn't use any such time scale, so your question is irrelevant and the UK will not be leaving the E.U. anytime soon.

Chances are they will be introducing the "Euro" in the UK anytime soon to make you feel more at home in the European Community.

I think we can safely assume that nothing as outlandish as that would stand even the remotest chance of being implemented. And the EU is doing just fine.
