Definitely Jack Nicholson's character!
He was so convincing that the statement alone resonates into reality at every opportune moment or relationship issue when "you can't handle the truth" is on point!
Notice how Tom Cruise's character is clearly taken aback as if to say, "well dang, actually i may not be able to handle the truth" classic!!!
