I don't know of any laws in the U.S. that say you can't commit suicide . . . after all, how could they be enforced? You're already dead.

The laws regarding suicide I know of . . . say you can't attempt to commit suicide.

What does that mean?

Do it right the first time, or end up in jail.

Well, we do, actually.

In most states, there is a procedure to involuntarily commit someone to treatment if they are danger to themselves or others.

The problem is that government, regardless of whose government, is force, and nothing else. Suicidal tendencies are pretty hard to cure by force.

There used to be laws in many countries against suicide, but if they fail they just have more stress, and are more motivated to do it right next time

I can't imagine how we could help someone to kill themselves with paper.
