Im just really curious if anyone besides Filipinos admire him or even just heard of his virtuosity.

I learned of Jose Rizal when I lived in Manila.A great man,intelligent and visionary.Be proud of him!

Most Americans don't even know their own history, much less about the national heroes of other nations. Sad, but true.

This American knows about Jose Rizal, and Jose Marti of Cuba. Not to mention Jose San Martin, Simon Bolivar and Benito Juarez. I'm proud to have studied my own country's history as well as that of other nations.

It is to me, but really only because my family lived in the PI for 2 years. My mom still has his book. He was obviously an amazing man.
