What dance craze was your first. The first one I can remember doing was the Twist (good old Chubby Checker!) at a very young age. I know my mum would say Jitterbug, what was yours?

my dad taught me to waltz and foxtrot in our basement, that was at about age 8. He wanted me to marry someday. Then my uncle taught me to polka (and we did a lot of polka in plays and at picnics).
We did the jitterbug in the 6th grade...did that after we saw the drive in movie of Bill Haley and the Comets (who supposedly started "rock"...with his song "Rock Around The Clock".....the next dance I did was the cha-cha, the twist, the mash potato, and some version of a slow dance (where we just leaned on each other).

My mother taught me salsa, with my aunt also i learn't, but my first ever was in paris where i learnt the Rotating Hip Movement and also thigh to thigh contact in lombada lessons.
