what are the effects of lack of self discipline in the police?

Guess you haven't read anything about Atlanta lately. Last Christmas they killed a 91 year old women.

Same as with any organization with a lack of self discipline and the wrong person (or too many people) find out about it.

1) A bad reputation for everybody in that department.
2) Investigations within the department by other (federal) authorities.
3) Loss of public trust and respect.
4) Frequent Law Suits.
5) Many firings and hirings of top officials to "fix" things.
6) Everybody blaming somebody else, instead of taking personal responsibility.

thinking they are above us without giving us the benefit of the doubt.
i have seen many situations where the police have falsely accused people of committing crime because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
and you know damn well if the officer was accused of a crime he/she would have the support of the whole police station and jury.
not saying that they don't get what they deserve. but that there are many more officers that have gotten away with crimes than criminals.

well, me and a friend were riding along a mountain road and two sheriffs cars were parked on the side of the road and the two men were in the back seat naked my lights shown in there car and they followed us and pulled us over and asked if i had a gun and i did and my dawg was sitting on the shotgun in the back seat and wouldn't let him get it i told him dawg would attack him if provoked.and i do believe they were going to shoot us both.but changed there minds when i let them know i would fight them.and my dog would attack them when he said something rude
