What sense would it make for the United States government to murder 3,000 of our citizens and destroy two of the most recognizable symbols (twin towers) of our economic strength ? Not to mention seriously damaging the Pentagon, the heart of U.S. military operations.

To pull off and cover up something of that magnitude would require perhaps hundreds of people to maintain a code of silence. Maybe I'm being naive, but I believe if 9-11 had been a deliberately orchestrated government plot, someone involved (perhaps at a lower level) would have come forward by now. We would have had another "Deep Throat" (as in Watergate) spilling the beans.

What will it take to get you conspiracy people to realize that there's a genuine threat from radical Muslims? They themselves have come right out and called for the destruction of us "infidels" Do the jihadists need to personally e-mail or text message that they want to kill you before you will believe that they're serious about their goals and agenda?

Hey D, well history seems to prove so...if you read the people's history it informs you of all the dirty government deeds that we don't learn about in school. Like the fact that the people who jacked the planes where trained by our own govt...they knew...the sad aspect of 9/11 is is that bush loves oil more than his own people...but actually bush wasn't behind all that...he doesn't have enough brain...the man couldn't find puerto rico on the globe. He is just the messenger boy... : (

I don't think they were. I think the Bush administration was utterly negligent and didn't do enough to prevent this from happening, but they had nothing to do with the planning. Remember, when they were leaving, the Clinton administration all but begged Bush to pay attention to Osama bin Laden, but Bush was obsessed with Saddam Hussein.

And let's remember that some of the 3,000 victims were not U.S. citizens, but guest workers. I understand there were foreign nationals working in the World Trade Center who died.

Short answer, no. Anyone who says different is of the conspiracy mindset and tries to make all sorts of connections that are simply unreasonable. If you ask most of them, they all believe in alien abductions, and other crackpot ideas.

Just because the government knew about Bi Laden and his threats of terrorism doesn't mean they were behind it. Responsible for it, due to gross negligence maybe. But not behind it.

please ridiculous ; we don't take our planes and fly them into our buildings and kill our citizens ; we draw the line somewhere; it may be okay to accuse others or take what doesn't belong to you but we don't have suicide pilots working for the CIA here in USA flying United etc ; again ridiculous
