My dryer has got no heat coming out of it. We have checked the heating element and then fuses/circuit breaker in the basement, these things are ok. Does anyone know what else my cause this problem? It is a Whirlpool heavy duty electric dryer. It is about 4 years old.

Electric dryers have high temperature limit switches,if these switches are faulty it will not let the element heat up these limit switches can be ckecked with an ohm meter but make sure you disconnect the power to the dryer first. Most dryers have two limit switches. My advise is to make sure you have 220 volts getting to the dryer first. you can check this with a voltmeter but if you haven't done this before you need to have someone to help you. good luck.

Some of these have two non-resettable fuses - one on the heat element usually at the upper portion and another at the exhaust outlet. Both can be checked with an ohmmeter. No continuity, it is blown and you will need to replace. CHECK WITH DRYER UNPLUGGED!

And as another post said make sure you have 208-220 volts to the outlet where dryer plugs in. This is measured across the two outermost slots on the outlet. If no 208-220 their will be no heat and the problem will be in the breaker box or possibly wiring. UNPLUG DRYER! CHECK WITH VOLTMETER AND DON'T TOUCH METAL PART OF PROBE!

Also check the cord where it attaches to the dryer to insure no problems there. AGAIN, DO WITH DRYER UNPLUGGED!

Checy is correct, however it is common for the thermofuse on the heating element to read ok for continuity, but still be defective, so unplug your dryer and jump the two wires together and plug it back in and try it again and if it works - replace the thermofuse and the thermostat -you can buy them in a set, because if the thermostat is not shutting off when it should - it will overload the thermofuse.

If you use a lotion made for your face, it won't cause pimples. Besides, pimples form in the lower layers of the skin and work their way up. Try Aquafor or Eucerin at night, and a lighter moisturizer in the day, like Neutrogena. You can find any number of facial cremes at a drug store, or find a Mary Kay or Beauticontrol consultant to set you up with a personalized skin care system. Use cooler water when you wash your face, because hot water will strip away the oils your body makes to act as a moisturizer. For chapped lips, I would sleep with Vaseline petroleum jelly on them, then during the day, I would use Chapstick or Blistex. Keep applying those products throughout the day. And avoid licking your lips, that will dry them out even more. Any item with added fragrances will be more drying due to the chemicals needed to make that scent. Stick with unscented varieties. And as with anything, drinking more water will help to keep your skin cells hydrated and curb the issue.

You have some of the possiblities answered. Our did the same thing. The timer works fine but the relay that controls the 220V to the heating element was not working. Replaced it for about $15.

i don't care much about the dryer, I just think it is so funny that either you or most likely this web site, won't let the word s p i c go out to the public in context as " s p i c & span ". We/society has become a bunch of whining little girls.

Either a faulty breaker or a possible plugged vent on the outside. try removing the vent hose and try it, if it heats up the pipe could be plugged

I recently had this problem and was told by a repairman that it can only be two things, electrical or the element....
