more like a rehearsed speech instead of a statement. I thought it sounded remarkably like Tony Blair's tribute to Diana, the people's princess etc...with all the long pauses etc. Media voice coaching or just me being cynical?

It's just that, well he's had 126+ days to break down and yet he just happens to break down now - why all this sudden emotion now?

His voice wasn't breaking down when he was begging for money.
His voice wasn't breaking down on any of the interviews, perhaps that is because all interviews had to pay into the fund.
His voice wasn't breaking down when he reported Madeline missing at the first interview.
Perhaps the thought of the "Gravy Train " being stopped has brought a tear to his eye.
Media voice training for sure.
Never mind I'm sure he'll get the twinkle back in his eye when he knows how much he'll earn from the book

How horrible it must be IF they did not do anything to be now accused of something so bad.
Perhaps that double edge sword of the media is not so great after all. I would sure sound rehersed if after months looking for my daughter (no sleep, maybe on prescribed medications to help me care for myself and other children) I had to get up and defend myself!
Is it not more believable that the government there wants them to go AWAY? So they have decided to attack them?
No matter which way it is... a little girl is still missing. I think for sure I want the benifit of the doubt in my favor so people would not quit looking for my child.

Didn't see it. Quite frankly, I don't think I would be still standing, if I were in their position, never mind rehearsing speeches.

I feel that the suggestion, that the poor child's body was hidden for 25 days and then disposed of, is ludicrous. I don't need to paint pictures - dead body and heat? Sorry NO, try again Mr Policeman in Portugal.

that was the most damning interview ive ever heard, watch kate as he speaks, watch her as he says keys things and watch her reactions, she almost cringes as he says some of the things defending them and saying maddie is still out there or watever. Really, please do me one favour and watch it with that in mind.

Also their last press statement, watch the amount of blinking (however camera flashes could have been the cause).

Put yourself in his position, how would react ?!?!?!?.
Every word and emotion will be miss interpreted.
How dose the saying go. "Give him a fair trial and then hang him" He seems to be deemed Guilty Guilty or Not.

Judge Not.

Of course it was written and rehearsed. They are not allowed to say what they want and have to be very careful that they don't slip up. My heart goes out to the two of them they look so tragic.
