I was talking to someone on an online game and I think he was trying to hit on me. Anyways he asked me my nationality and I said I was half/black half/white (He was Asian by-the way.) Well, the next day he got back online and I said hello. Usually he would say "Hello" back but instead he said, "Hey girl, lol! (By-the way lol means laugh out load.) I find it peculiar that he started saying this right after I told him my nationality. Should I feel offended. Mind you, I never said "Hey girl" or anything of that nature a day in my life reasons being I feel that it is more polite to say the persons name when greeting them instead of calling them a girl.

Thank you for your answers.

maybe he just heard it somewhere and thought it sounded neat. Ask him.

no u shldnt, cos i often 'hey gal' to my female friends.. the ones i'm close to.. :) hahaha.

maybe he also was thinking of hip-hoppers when u said u'r half-black half-white.. i noticed alot of american shows show blacks as hip-hoppers or that they often 'yo buddy' to their pals..

dont be offended, i'm sure he was just trying to show he's 'closer' to u, or tht he's acting cool.
