I'm expecting a check, I haven't gotten it yet. Is it possible for people to steal my check and cash it in even though it's got my name and stuff on the check?

Yes, it is called forgery....most states is a felony. Just contact the person who wrote the check and see if it cleared thier account, if it did then file a police report and thier economic crimes division should be able to help you.

You might want to verify when the check was actually put in the mail. Remember we had a holiday which always seems to slow the post office down a couple of extra days. If it's been less than 10 business days, give it a little longer.

ST is right! It's forgery.

If the check is late in the mail or otherwise lost, whoever issued the check can put a "stop payment" on it and reissue the check

Why would someone steal your check? You think someone is going to open up your mail and take the check. Depending where the check is coming from it could take over a month. No one can cash your check unless they have your I.D.

most check cashing servies don't require picture ID, some don't even require id period, like the payroll check cashing vans that go around to the differant work places
