I think this title should go to one of the many people who have little money and devote their lives to helping others. In no way does being successful and rich warrant recognition .
Bringing money into the country is good, but it does not make a person great, or entitled to be honoured. These are people who have talent and good fortune on their side.

Not a bad choice but I would rather go for someone who saves lives or who has committed great acts of bravery or sacrifice.I cant come up with any names though,Had you asked this question a week ago ,the obvious person would have been Jane Tomlinson !

He's ok, but nothing without the beatles, for a great briton, it has to be Ray Mears, Michael Palin or Bill Oddie.
My opinion, not that it counts, each to their own.

Well, I kind of like Bob Geldof because of all the work he has done for Africa, etc.
But maybe I shouldn't give my opinion as I am an American.
