I know someone who is already married with kids but finds herself more in love with her former boyfriend (who just left her 25 years ago) than her husband today.

You, sorry, I mean your friend needs to seek counseling right away. Tell her not to wait one day. I know some women in a similar situation and it will only cause problems in her family and ultimately cost her her marriage and family. Think of how pissed her husband and kids will be when they find out and the guilt will crush your friend. She is entertaining a dangerous delusion which will cost her dearly if she continues to do nothing about it. Hope this helps.

that's because she's living a false reality.
she is in love with the person she knew 25 years ago, and he has probably changed so much she wouldn't recognize him now. she doesn't even "know" the guy.
if she's unhappy, then she has to do something about her life.... the former boyfriend "just left" her.... what is so great about HIM?

That's not love--it's Unfinished Business in her mind...She's wondering "what if" and "why"..She may want to know the answer...but it should not matter after a lifetime of 25 yrs. She can write any ending she wants in her mind..Bird in the hand...Doesn't she remember the other flew the coop?

This is wrong. She is married and must keep herself to her own husband. She should run far away from this other man, lest she commits adultery.

loving has never been a wrong deed. if it helps her feel better, then go tell her to love more. just remind her NOT TO ACT ON IT because she has a family of her own.
