My opinion on Peyton Manning is that he will most definitely go down in history as the greatest Quarterback of All-Time in the National Football League.

Ok, here we go again...
Championships are completely team achievements. They are not individual ones. If you want to judge coaches by them then I can go with that but why are quarterbacks and quarterbacks alone judged by this criterion?
Defense wins championships. That is the cliche isn't it? Then why are middle linebackers not similarly judged? Butkis never won one. He must be a scrub right?
As to Manning, he is easily the best quarterback currently playing but he has more work to do, having only been in the league for 9 seasons so far.
Having said that, he is on track for:
1) Every major career passing record (in 3 fewer seasons than either Marino or Favre)
2) The most wins of any quarterback
3) member of 2 or 3 championship teams
4) 3 MVP awards
5) 11 Pro-Bowls
6) The most touchdowns in a season
Beyond the statistical pyrotechnics:
1) He calls all of the plays for a very successful offense
2) He is on track to equal Favre's durability record but is even more impressive because he has started EVERY game since he was drafted
3) When he came to town the Colts were 3-13 and Marvin Harrison had 2 800 yard seasons. Since then the Colts have been below 10 wins twice, one of those when Manning was a rookie, and Harrison has never been below 1100 yards.
4) There have been 52 4000 yard seasons in the history of the NFL. Manning has put up 7 of these.
He has work to do but he he stays on track I don't know who could possibly be considered better.

This question is honestly impossible. There are to many other prolific quarterbacks to play the game. Will he ever be a Joe Montana, Steve Young, Troy Aikman? Will he have the durability of a Brett Favre or a Dan Marino? Sometimes you have to face some of the facts...Peyton Manning has been blessed with an amazing line, consistent strong running backs, and lack for a better word elite receivers. I'd like to see Peyton win one more and play another few years in the NFL before we start considering him the greatest of all time.

Not to me, and you can argue he has the ring all you want, he isn't the Greatest of all time. One of the Greatest-yeah. First though he will have to stop choking in the playoffs, and say what you want and give me all the thumbs down in the World but it was his DEFENSE that saved him last year. How many touchdowns were there in that game against the Ravens? Oh yeah ZERO, all Field Goals, in part because his defense got the int when McNair was about to get the touchdown. Manning may have a gift, but he doesn't have THE gift. It is all totally natural for him and that is why he spends all the time working on studying game film and keep his arm in shape. He has to do all that or he wouldn't be as good. I'll give him credit that he keeps himself in that shape, but it still shows he isn't the greatest because it isn't totally natural.

I think that if peyton manning keeps up the same numbers year in and year out he will go down as the greatest QB of all time. What I think of Peyton is if he has good weapons at WR he will dominate.

Unless he can equal of surpass both Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana in super bowl wins, no. Look at Dan Marino's stats. If Marino had won a super bowl or two he would be considered the greatest QB of all time, but he's not. Manning at least has won one but now he has to take the next step.

He might but people are jumping the gun here. He's won one Superbowl. There was a guy in San Fran that I believe won four. There was a guy in the 70's named Bradshaw that won a few games.
I'm not saying he's not great but having great stats are not a susbtitute for winning. He could break all the passing records in the NFL but the bottom line is the big game. Marino was a great QB but failed to ever win the Big Show. Does that make him the greatest? It's a matter of opinion.

Peyton is a great QB, but you have to admit that his stats are skewed by playing the majority of his games in a dome where he doesn't have to deal with bad weather conditions. And I would put Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, and Fran Tarkenton ahead of him. Maybe Brady, too, but I'll hold off on that until both their careers are done.

He won't even be the greatest QB to play for the Colts. When Unitas passed away, Manning requested to wear black high tops in his honor but the league denied it, he also said that every QB should have worn them in honor to this legend. This tell us that he does not consider himself better than Johnny U.
He's arguably the best right now (yes, Tom Brady finishes his drives for Field Goals, not for TDs). The drive against the Pats in the AFC championship was impressive, but he needs to do more than that to be considered the best ever.
Maybe with 3 or 4 performances like this one he will match the Montanas, Elways and Unitases.
