I gave up three weeks ago, it's one of the best things I ever did. We've saved over £300, my skin is clearer, I have bags more energy, I can walk farther and faster and not get breathless and my daughter and her other half gave up a week after us. I used Champix from the Dr, brilliant, can't recommend it enough.

Wow three weeks and all that so soon!! Imagine in 3 months or a year!!! Good Job!!!I smoked for years and quite about 7 years ago and I am now 50 pounds heavier but I can breath in the morning and taste food and I don't stink of smoke anymore. The weight I can lose but cancer or Emphysema is irreversible.

Stick with it - don't go back to it like lots do after a period of time. I gave up 7 months ago and I don't think I will ever start again but it is difficult for me as my partner smokes about 25 a day and still smokes in the house. It doesn't make me want to smoke tho, I just hate the constant smell of stale smoke and ashtrays etc. It really is a terrible habit but I still don't think that passive smoking kills hundreds of people every year as the government keeps telling us. If there are, why, in the present climate don't they disclose all the names of these people each year to prove it . Obesity and it related illnesses cost the Health Service hell of a lot more than smokers and smokers contribute billions to the government in revenue.

I gave up smoking cigarettes 13 months ago and I feel better but I've put on some weight. I smoked for 20 years - 20+ per day so I have lots more cash in pocket these days. Which means I get to spend it all on crack, heroin, LSD and PCP and not so cheap women......sometimes I go on a bender and I'm on the ceiling for days.

At other times i pop on some womens clothing and some make up, have a cuppa and a couple of ginger nuts. Have my friend Lilly round for a chat and she recites her daring tales of cat hunting in the local area. There's nothing she likes more than a cat barbecue. Sometimes though, only the drugs will hit the spot.

I find it helps me relax in my stressfull position as a Conservative MP in the House of Commons.

It really does.

Yes I do smoke, if I quite I would probably become the next Jack the Ripper, very bad temperament when I have tried to quite. And all you people who have quite expect to put on at least 30 lbs. There is no one that I know that hasn't put at least 20 to 30 lbs on. Guess what many years after they have quite they are still caring those lbs to this day.

yes and I hate it.

started when I was 12 just thinking I looked god for some sad reason, now im 19 and smoke 30 a day, I cant breath, got no energy and my skin is horrible, I want to stop but its weird its like I need that little smoke thing in my throat. its worst when you are crying or just eat a big meal.

I would do anything to stop. but everytime I see those things that help you they look like crap and a few I tried are crap.

but I guess I will be trying that thing you use.

how long were you smoking??

I do smoke. I want & know I should quit. Going to the doctor in about a week & a half & plan on asking the doctor for Chantix. It's a pill to help stop smoking & hear it helps a lot. I don't know if it is the same med you took or not.
Congratulations to you!!!

Not now,I gave up 10 months ago, like you its the best thing I ever did too.

Its much easier now,at first I still wanted one for a while, now I never think about it.

I gave up with the book "Allen Carrs easy way to stop smoking" best £8-99 I ever spent, read it and haven't had a ciggie since,no withdrawals either, its amazing.

Well done. I don't smoke, and I cannot stand the smell.Athough I do like the smell of cigar smoke!
A friend of mine gave up cigarretes, and the money she would have spent went into a jar, she was amazed how much she had saved in a couple of weeks. Thats a good incentive, more
holidays abroad!!
