No I doubt if it is illegal. But, as others have said I am quite sure that if you went in there that they would cut your hair. Now if you would want them to cut your hair might be another story. And the girl with the restaurant and "bi-racial (mulatto) hair braiding and salon was way out there. It seems like racism runs squarely across all borders. Whites against blacks, blacks against white, mulatto's against.......... Good question showing the true full force of racism from more than one angle!!!

It seems to me, a person not trained as a barber, that there is a big difference between straight and curly hair. I can imagine that someone could be competent to do one, but not the other. I certainly see no problem with someone refusing to take a customer they don't feel qualified to serve. I do that all the time.
There are health clubs that refuse men. I can imagine that there are women that don't want to work out and get all sweaty and have men watching them. I just wish that the same thought process that allows that as a good idea would extend that to men-only clubs.
So, no, I see nothing wrong with a barber refusing to cut white people's hair, nor with wanting to specialize in "combination hair", whatever that is (I'm not questioning that it exists, I just know nothing of hair besides my own.)

As long as they do not display a sign saying
"NO Dogs and No Whites,"
they are not breaking the law.
The law does not require that they perform a service for you, it is the owners choice to decide what he wants to do.
So get over it and stop whining.

Chances are that they cut everyone's hair...but, specialise in colored people's hair.
I am sure they would cut a white person's hair as well.
I believe it is 100% legal as long as they aren't chucking you out of their place for being non-colored. But, I highly doubt they would do that.
Good luck!

If anyone goes into a store and is denied service based on skin color, then yes it is against the law.
It would be really stupid for any business to deny such service because they're in the business to make money. It shouldn't matter what color skin holds the money.

It probably is legal since we have legalized reverse discrimination in this country. You are racist and breaking the law if you have a "whites only" barber shop, but somehow it's legal and not racist to have a "blacks only" barber shop. Go figure.
