How is anybody going to know that? The season doesn't start for two months. But my guess would be the New Jersey Devils.

My top picks:

1. San Jose Sharks- Will be the team to beat in 08
2. Ottawa Senators- One more year of experience should help this young team. Solid at every position.
3. Anaheim Ducks- Cup repeat? Very likely.
4. Detroit Red Wings- They will rise or fall with the play of Hasak
5. NY Rangers- Their forward unit is posibly the best in the league (Jagr, Gomez, Drury, Straka, Shanahan) and King Henrik is the real deal. As it stands though, if they are to sip from Lord Stanley's mug their defence would need vastly overachieve. If they could solidify their defence they would be first or second on this list.
6. Toronto Maple Leafs- I wish...

The Ducks (The Hockey News' top pick), Rangers (second round last without Gomez and Drury), Senators (great team without many offseason losses), Penguins (Crosby's foot is fine now), and Red Wings (conference finals and top in the west last year) all have a great chance to win. Start counting out the Islanders, Blue Jackets, Bruins, and the Kings.

Phoenix Coyotes squeak into the playoffs as the 8 seed, lose their first three playoff games then run off 16 consecutive wins to take the cup to the desert. I am heading to Vegas to place that bet now, I will be a multi-millionaire by this spring!

Now serving number 1892. Ducks as reigning champs and so they have the inside line but Ottawa, New York Rangers and Canucks are also good considerations.

The team w/ 16 post season wins. How can anyone possibly know before the season has started?

Here's what you should do. Get a dart board, put all 30 team names on the board, and cross off all the teams you hit. The team that will win will be the one you don't hit.
