Why is it that everyone thinks that if you're gothic or something, you're a bad person?? I'm goth and I'm not a bad person!!! I don't do drugs, I get good grades (In the classes I like), I'm not in that much trouble at home, I just LIKE the style! So why is it that everyone freaks out over gothic people?
I'm more of a Gothic-Emo chick. I like both mah Tripp pants and mah skinny jeans :]

no matter what your style people will judge you. i have tattoos and you wouldn't believe the grief i get from some people (especially online). it's just a fact of life that somewhere, someone is judging you no matter what. i'm sure if you think hard about it you'll realize that you judge somebody too... that "dumb jock" or "ditzy cheerleader" etc.
usually many people as they age realize that stereotypes are not always true. whenever i see a goth person i make no assumptions because it doesn't matter what a person looks like to me.

Gothic-Emo? You're not Goth. Emo is fake.
Whatever. Maybe it's because the original Goths were really bad people. All you baby bats these days think you're Goth (why? Cause you wear all black? Ha.) but don't know anything about the history of the subculture. If you can't handle it get over it.
And not everybdy thinks that. Why do all "Goths" think everyone is out to get them, huh?

Because people take stuff from the TV that isn't true and turn it into real life. Like in many TV shoes the gothic person is a "bad person who does drugs and everything" and they think that is true and they take something that is fake from a cartoon and then they believe that all goths are bad people, when they aren't, it's just there style. But sometimes people get scared when someone has a different style than someone else like gangsta and goth and they act like those people are bad and have guns or are a part of a gang. so they try to get away from that person to protect themselves or there children. The human mind and how they react to different styles, and what they see on TV is complex and highly impossible to figure out. Like on TV on the news they see those gangsta's robbing banks and killing people then they think every gangsta' is like that person. the same with goths, if one goth does drugs they think all of them do and immediatly catergorize that person and discriminate him/her.

Gothic, Emo, Indie.. these "styles" as you call them doesn't really just apply to the way you dress girl...
When you boldly say that you are a goth, that in itself means that you like doing goth stuffs. If you are only copying the way they dress then I'm sorry but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Please don't over use the term.. its sickening :)

When i think goth, i think grungy anti-social person. When i think emo, i think depressive loner ...which are kinda the same. Unless you are emo or goth you don't really tend to gravitate towards someone that wears dark colors and has that sad emo thing going on. I find it scary. Just offering an opinion.

hmm... idk.. im more of a prep and from peoples point of veiw most goths are scary unpleasant people that stay away from other people... i think people just dont want to hang out with people that are labeled goth or emo b/c of what the sterio type is..... but i guess u can still be ok if u wear goth/emo stuff.....just @ my school all the emo/goth people h8 every1... they always plot against and pull tricks on all of the preps, jocs, sporty girls...ect. But if u aren't like that its good.

Not everyone thinks that, you shouldn't assume that.
I'm the total opposite of gothic, but my sister is gothic.
So I have no problem with gothics. I never thought any of that stuff. You shouldnt assume that everyone thinks your a bad person.

i think that they don't like gothic people is that they're different. Also they get the idea that you are freaks from movies. I totally don't care who would as long as you're nice and true to yourself.

It's just stereotyped. Haha like, people just tend to think gothic people like witchcraft etc etc, and it's just the mindset of people since a few hundred years ago and it's hard to change it.
