okay, your period works on a 28day cycle; the last 7 days being when you menstrate. So really you only need 21 pills. The reason they put the last 7 pills (22-28 otherwise known as placebos) is just to keep you on the habit of taking them. However those last 7 pill do not contain any medication at all. So to answer your question, you should wait 7 days after your pills are gone before continuing with your next pack of Yaz. You may also want to talk to your doctor about Metformin if you start to show any signs of PCOS such as weight gain. Just another treatment they use for PCOS.....

I am not a doctor but a person with PCOS that tried Yasmin. When I had been given the packages it was a 28 day pack, but for the 21 it means that one skips for the 7 days in place of if there was a 28 day pack (which is including the 7 placebo pills to induce the period).

But if your doctor is saying to take only the hormone pills then when you finish the pack of pills you then start a new pack of pills, taking only the hormone pills.

I would recommend getting back in touch with your doctor for further clarification of the directions on the prescription.
