As far as I can see, it seems that a lot of the feminists I know despise men, or at least have some pet peeves about them. What I can't see is what good feminism would bring to the world. It seems that it has only succeeded in creating a barrier between males and females. Oh, I understand women's rights and justice, and I fully agree that an abusive husband must go to jail for abusing his wife (and the like), just not the extremist views. Why can't men and women just learn to get along sweetly? A woman has different needs and ideas from a man, and vice versa. That's why trying to implement equality between them in the same terms would never successfully work. Men open doors for women and women kiss men goodnight -- won't that be much better?

Oh, boy. I guess I should ready myself for the sharp words. :D

Feminism has made the world a better, fairer, safer world for half of the human race. In areas where feminism has been suppressed you have burquas, female genital mutilation, illiteracy, honor killings (killing the victim of sexual attacks) and widespread poverty among women and children.

Yes, there are extremists, just like there are extremists in any group. But the "radical" notion that women can be equal to men and can contribute more to society than bearing children and satisfying men's sexual needs has done much good.

Ever since women were introduced to the idea that they don't need to stay home and cook and clean and take care of the kids they nowadays seem to get offended at the mention of doing such things.....the result? Women who don't know how to clean, cook or do anything for themselves and the expectation of their man to do it for them. And they still expect us to open doors for them and do all the things we used to do?

I think women and men can be equal in some aspects but will always remain different in the end. I believe that some women have an inferiority complex when faced with the fact that men are better at certain things than they are while overlooking that women are better at men at certain things. We just have to realize that men are men and women are women........I find it so offensive that women are trying to turn us into these over-sensitive girly men that cater to a woman's every whim....now I know that most guys are still a man's man.....but more and more we see these doormats that ensure their woman's happiness at their own expense.

Women lost the right to our chivalry when they demanded equality......back when women cooked and cleaned for us and took good care of us....well that kind of hard work earns opened doors and such.....today women expect it for the simple fact that they are women and don't think they have to do anything for us.

If anything feminism is a major setback for women as it makes men resentful of today's manipulative women.

I agree that women aren't slaves and cooking/cleaning and other chores can be shared by both men and women alike......but most (not all) women seem to expect something for nothing.....I'm all for independant women.....but not those who expect certain things just for the fact that they are women......maybe in the 50's but those days are long gone.

Sorry to say ladies but maybe you should think long and hard about feminism and what it really means......I'm sure the intention was liberation of women but the end result is the belittling and feminizing of men.

Theres nothing wrong with feminism it's self, thats just women being concerned about women's issues and rights.
There are some, who may be referred to as "feminazi's", these are the women who come across as hyper aggressive or seem to hold some grudge against men, whether it is based on experience (being battered/rape, etc...) or just personal belief.
I personally believe that equal rights should be just that, EQUAL. However, with equal rights comes equal responsibility, and it should work both ways!

Feminists don't have pet peeves about men, they have pet peeves about a male-domniated world.

The entire basis of feminism is that men and women are VERY different psychologically and physically and that makes men and women complements and EQUALS, not master and slave, superior and inferior.

By the way, the definition of "feminist"? "Advocate of social, political, and economic equality for women".

If feminism means comparing females to males and trying to prove that they are not lesser, then its idiotic. Mother nature has designed female and male differently. Female is good are what she is good at and a male is good at what he is good at. So you should compare a female to another female, not measure a female with the factors that are fit for measuring masculine abilities and try to prove that she is better than him. How idiotic is that.

Men are men and women are women...that is how it was since thousands and thousands of years and its not gonna change in a day or two.

But on the other hands, the society is male dominated, and failing to protect woman's right is failure to protect her. That is where those feminists should focus on...not on trying to race with the other half of your species.

Women bring life to the planet. They show love and compasion when the rest of the world is fighting. They've suffered years of injustices and inequal rights, partially due to certain, unnammed religions (Christianity, Islam, ect).As a man, i know that men are no gift from God, and are certainly not created in his image. I think women should be worshiped like the miracle-working, life-giving goddesses they are. Have you ever read the DaVinci Code? It kinda sums it up.
