i need to know for my homework... and i can't find any thing, can someone help me

1.for the object of the living experiments
2.for the part of the food chain
3.for the part of dicomposer, means that they are very helpful to destroy the rest of foods or dead thing
4.as the pet for some strange people

except the four of them, they are useless for human :)

They can eat many things, which makes them good for cleaning up decaying matter and such. And they are a vital part of the food chain. In general if you're ever confronted with a question like "Why do we need this animal" you can be certain they are atleast part of the food chain, thus making them important, and ofcourse every animal has its own unique roles as well!

And as a side note, you should have said "Why do we need rats in the world?

we need them for the medical observation and also lab observation.. so without them the medicine will still on the same place without improving cuz when we do a new drug we always need to do observation on rats before given to humen to know the side effect of the drug and the benift
and by the way now in alot of countries u can't use more than 3 rats for one observation otherwise the goverment will punch u..

This is a very odd homework question. We don't "need" rats. I am wondering what kind of school you go to or if there is more to the question.

Yes. One of the primary animals used for research is the lab rat.

We, humans don't actually need rats though.

They are good for testing new drugs in the lab. They have a fast metabolism so test results can be obtained quicker then in humans.
