As long as the line is the right colour (ie pink on a pink test, blue on a blue test -never grey, white, yellow, whatever) and came up within the time limit and didn't disappear within the time limit (it is fine if it fades after the time limit) then it is a positive.

As for how far apart the lines are? Umm usually there is a control window and a results window? In any case many home pregnancy tests are listed here:
http://www.peeonastick.com/hpts.html
And if the name is a link you can click on it to see pictures of positive results so you can get an idea what it's supposed to look like.

Well if you seen the faint line two minutes or less after you took the test your probably pregnant. But if when you first took the test you only seen one line and then went back 15 mins later and seen a faint line your probably not pregnant. When test sits longer than 5 minutes they start to develop another line. Take another if your pregnant it only takes about 30 seconds to see the two lines.

If the faint line comes up within a minute of the test, it is most likely a positive. If it comes up later than that, it could be an evaporation line or leaky dye.

CONGRATULATIONS! Wait 2 days and take another, hcg should double every couple days, making your line darker!

Did the faint line appear within the initial 10 minute time frame? Sounds like a positive to me!!! I was 10DPO yesterday and took 2 different brand tests and saw faint lines. To make sure we purchased a digital one (Clearblue Easy) and it said PREGNANT.

once you're seeing something, this is in all danger a favorable (a minimum of for now). when I first examined employing First reaction, I observed a line so faint that i assumed it improve into all in my head too. Wait 24 hours, try back with first morning urine, and then see if the line is any darker. If it is going away thoroughly, it could have been a chemical being pregnant. (It occurs greater suitable than maximum women understand.) good success!! :-)

the same exact thing happened to me! i took 5 tests and all the lines were usually faint until the last one. make sure you take the test in the morning when you wake up and haven't had liquids for a couple of hours. it's the most accurate time to take it due to your pregnancy hormone levels. even if it is the faintest line it is a positive.

Congrats, you are pregnant, no matter how different in colour the lines are, if there are two then it is positive. 12dpo is fairly close to you missing your period anyway. It's all good!

yes. the control window will have a dark line to indicate test is working properly. the second will be lighter. it could also be a false positive. get the ept test that saids the words pregnant or not preg

a line, no matter how faint, is obviously detecting some portion of the pregnancy hormone so.........congratulations mummy to be!!!
test again on period due date or a few days past to re-confirm!

Yes regardless of the colour of the second line, it is still positive. If you read the packaging, it should say so.
