The parallel for me would be "would I prefer a doctor misdiagnose my condition and give me the wrong medicine or leave me sick without treating me at all"....in that case, I would prefer the latter because I at least have a chance that I can heal on my own. Granted, we are definitely not doctors or professionals of any sort relative to the questions we answer in this forum, but in many instances the folks seeking answers pose questions that are real to them and their pains are genuine, so it seems reasonable that a certain sensitivity should accompany one's attempts to address another person's problems. Admittedly there is a difference between answering rudely and being truthful with someone, but I usually like to ask myself whether or not I can help a situation by answering a particular question....if I don't think I can, I'll pass on answering that question, because I don't want to make matters worse. So whenever I ask a question, I appreciate it when people are similarly inclined.

i don't want to make this long. i prefer people to be honest, and if their answer is rude by nature, it's very much ok with me. it's better to see the two opposite sides of the concept. ^_^
