Haven't done a crank call in years, since grade school. Personally, I didn't find it all that funny, but it gave some of my friends no end of amusement. Even then, I thought it was a bit on the immature side.

Honestly, I was the crank caller. When I was in High school there was this girl that was horribly mean to me. I started crank calling her late one night but her mom kept answering. after like the third of fourth call she said, " could you please crank call me tomorrow I have to work in the morning " and I felt so bad for her I never made another crank call again. I know.. I deserve all the thumbs down... I'm sorry....

I live in France and I don't think the French are into prank phone calls as much as we are in North America. When I was living in Canada it would happen so often that at first we'd get mad , but then we would get so used to it that we 'd just hang up on them. Besides, I used to them when I was a kid.

I find that, depending on the call, the best way to react is always to go along with it. For instance:

Caller: Is your refrigerator running?
Me: Oh, damn, I thought I tied that thing up... Alright, thanks for the notice.

And then hang up. Or this:

Caller: Hey, wanna go out with me?
Me: Sure! Let's meet at Fudd's tomorrow at 6, kay?

See, it's always best to go along with it.

Oh, and telemarketers are much more fun. I love to talk to them. It'll go like this.

Marketer: Hello, this is Phil and I was wondering if you were interested in subscribing to the Daily Register for a low price of...

Me: WAIT! Where are you, Phil?

Phil: I'm at Daily Register HQ. Why?

Me: No, what floor?

Phil: Uh, two... Why?

Me: Well, I'm on three. So I was wondering if you'd be interested in subscribing to... etc.

All the time. I tell them to get lost or just hang up on them, it is never worth it.

Usually I punch myself in the bag until I can't stand it then I furiously shake my fist at the sky and ask god why he insists on the cruel jokes.
