That is a good question St. Georges Flag is seen to be racist by certain members of British society.
e.g. Prison Officers can not even put it up in a rest Room on St. Georges day.
How Diverse is that? let us Remember that The Union Flag is made up of The Cross of St. Andrew for Scotland.
The Cross of St. Patrick for Ireland
and The Cross of St. George for England.

Therefore why is Wales and Cornwall Missing? Some United Kingdom this country is. But at least when the Union Flag is Flying So is:
ST. Georges Cross! So who cares who wins. The Sun Does not set on The St. Georges Cross. At full mast it is celebrated every day around the world.

i live in England, London is the capital of England, if we want to (and should) celebrate our country then we should do so. We should be able to do this without risk of offending anyone. If people want to come to England then that's fine they just have to respect the country they are in (before anyone gets upset i strongly think this is the case no matter where you are visiting) And for the record i am sick of not being able to do things to celebrate where i am from in case it upsets others. We do enough to let people into this country, we even have special events for various cultures. what more do these "ethnic minorities" want? If they don't like the English culture or way of life or get upset when we celebrate something we are perfectly within our rights to they have 2 options. 1-go home (not a nice though for some i know) 2- stay in there little groups untill we have finished. And is it tru we arnt allowed to fly the george cross anymore? or was that just durin the world cup? by the way as far as i am concerened i am English not British, four different countries, for different languages, Four different culures, why try and pigeon hole us all together? dont want to offened the scotts/ irish or welsh but i am proud of who i am and where i am from and so should you P.S> I do actually love scotland and walse , sorry Ireland havent got that far yet but see you next summer .

As others have said every person whose ancestry is from the UK (and that includes those living in other parts of the world) is supposed to bury their proud English and Scottish heritage. All while welcoming every other.
Shows how political types and the PC brigade are out of touch with a good many of us.
[Not that I have anything against celebrating with others, but why can't it go both ways?]

That Cheeky Lad, a bit of a traditionalist

Because the English are whipped, our flag is a symbol of
Racism, our national anthem is lame, our Royal Family are a waste of space. Our Government are beyond a joke

Tony Blair and the PC brigade have arranged it so we almost have to apologise to other nationalities for being English.

But we do like a party so god bless St Patrick and pass the Guinness

cos the pc brigade are worried it may be construed as being antagonistic towards our immigrant friends. I celebrate it every year and send St Georges day cards to my buddies, english of not.

England forever I said. (and scotland, wales and a bit of Ireland)
