passport expired 3 years ago (still have the old passport) and im going to amsterdam in 3 weeks. someone said i will need to travel to peterborough get a fast-tracked passport? is this the case? how long will that take in peterborough?

Yes it is possible to get to get your passport fast-tracked. To do this you need to apply in person. First you need to make an appointment to apply at a Passport Office by calling 0870 521 0410.
You can then receive your passport on the same day providing you can get your application to the office by the cut-off times, these are below:
16:00 - London Office
13:30 - Liverpool Office
13:00 - Peterborough Office
12:30 - Glasgow Office
Note that this same-day service will cost a premium. The cost is £108, see the 2nd link below.

Over the post takes 3 weeks, use the check-and-send service at the post office, takes 2 weeks, or you can go to a passport office, and they can get you a new one within 24 hours.

you can get a 24 hour turnaround passport, 3-day etc etc, but you do need to go to the passport office to do this. It wont take long, but the prices rise accordingly depending on how quickly you want it. At a last check, it was £90 for a standard, and £145 for a 24 hour one.

take it to peterborough my dad went 2 days ago he took his photo's certified by a official person and his expeired passport current fee of £109 and it put it there at 10 am and picked it up at 4pm sameday service

If you can get to Liverpool, you can get it the same day, but go early as you will be told to come back in a few hours time. it is also more expensive if you want it immediately £120, if you want it withing a week it is £90, and if you will wait as long as it takes it is only £60. i know because my daughter and myself went in March to get her passport and i paid the £120. The staff told us the other options.

You go in person to Peterboro and wait for the day. It should be done the same day, you need to have all your documents, photo and the correct fee. Check online with the passport agency what and where you go.

my stepbrother lost his passport 3 days b4 we were due to go away so he rushed to liverpool passport office and they had it sorted out the very same day
