Alright, so it's tragic for the family: BUT:
1.countless kids go missing every year. Why should we focus on just one of them, as though the other missing children don't matter?
2. When I was at the airport I saw a sign telling me to 'look out for madeleine mccann. Yeah right! I've got better things to do on holiday than look for a missing kid from a family I don't even know. Besides, it's very easy to make a wrong identification.
3. It's all turned into a media circus, with people sticking their oar in and interfering with the family's private business. People should stop meddling in this affair and let the McCanns deal with it in their own way.
4. I think we've all had enough of it. Let the police continue the investigation by all means, but it's time this neurotic national obsession stopped.

Re: Media, they started with the Media as a tool to help them find Maddie but now the 2 headed beast has found another way to keep the saga alive by doing what the media does best.
The media always will where ever possible sensationalise story's and put twists on them and present facts even if they have not been confirmed with a disclaimer that these facts have yet to be confirmed... So why present it in the first place under that guise?
I have said that theirs lots of avenues that have not been investigated and possibilities that have not been looked at, I distinctly remember one article saying that the door to the apartment was open but was left locked, so how did it get opened? IMHO she was coerced into opening the door as she was old enough to carry out such simple tasks. Yet this avenue was not investigated nor has any of the local population been investigated and what about the Door to Door search? All normal protocols you would expecct to be carried out have not so IN MY BOOK the investigation has been flawed from the outset.

I think possibly the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, is what started the media frenzy.....No parents in their right mind leave three SMALL children alone/asleep, to go out to eat, unless it's in their back yard! The media made Madeline sort of "everyone's child" in a sense, people just can't understand why would someone want to hurt a child, and then there are those who think the parents had something to do with it so....the frenzy continued......Think maybe, if this would have yielded a positive outcome and she was found unharmed, it would have been a relief. But the story just keeps getting weirder by the day....thing is it could be anyones child missing by one way or another these days, and that is hard to absorb. There are a lot of really bad people out there, and "slavery" is alive and well when it comes to children snatched and sold!!! I will bet many of our missing kids that have never been found have ended up there....or there would be bodies everwhere, because it's in the thousands!!!
Look at the American girl who went to Portugal for after graduation celebration....Missing.....the ocean would be the best place to dump a body....Sharks would make sure they were never found....As irresponsible as Maddy's parents were to leave them to go eat, the father would have to be a cold hearted bastard and hell of a liar/actor to not "unravel" and breakdown if he did dump the body, being questioned over and over and over again...even if he was trying to protect his wife...No sane person would be able to continually lie without screwing up....so that is why I think the media is so attached to this story.......

This media crap is good in a way, because with all this attention about Madeleine if somebody did take her, there isn't too many place that can hide with her.
It is unfair, however, to the hundreds of other parents that have missing children.
As far as Madeleine's parent are concern, I'm sure the media's coverage is both a curse and a blessing. However, the police and investigatior's interrogation are something they are going to have to go through in order to be eliminated as suspects.

I know that loads of kids go missing every year - whats done about that - not that many posters eh?!
I know that it if that was my child I would be doing everything in my power to find them. But also I would be heavily sedated - could not do press - need someone to do it for me.
I thought they were not coming home until she was found - getting a bit hot over there is it?

If you climb on to the media bandwagon, it is going to overturn at some stage and bite you on the behind. Lets not forget that it will always sells papers and on a slow news day the editior has to put something in the TV programes.

Re point 3: the media circus is a result of 'the McCanns dealing with it in their own way'. They have manipulated the press and they are in our faces every single day. They are now getting their just desserts for their undignified behaviour.
I think they are responsible for their daughter's death, whether by manslaughter or just by the fact that they left her unattended in an unlocked apartment. I hope they get their just desserts for that too.

It was the McCanns themselves that courted the media.They actually wanted the publicity and for people to take an interest.Now that it's all turned against them they want everyone to look away.

i agree i am sick of coming onto this web site just to see mccan. there is so much more important stuff out there. yes i am sorry she is missing, but like you said one girl out of thousands that go missing every year. can we now actually talk about topics news events that matter.
