I think Sharapova is much more sportive and mature than the Williams sisters. This is ironic because Sharapova is much younger than them. Sharapova lost to 30th seed Radwanska in 3rd round but she didn't make any excuse for herself. This is what she say during her post-match interview: "You got to give her (Radwanska) a lot of credit for finishing the match and winning it. A lot of girls in her position on a big stage in a big stadium against a top player sometimes get a little nervous. She held on there, and all the credit to her for winning the match." "There's no excuses (for me). It's not like today I stepped out on the wrong side of the bed or I did something differently. Like I said, I'm going to have these types of days where although I might be up a break in the third set, but it just doesn't go my way."

You're absolutely correct. Sharapova answered very well. Straightforward. A true star, a really good athlete knows when they played well and knows that admitting that the other person played better than they did that day is simply called "the truth". But I guess the Williams girls like to live in denial. I can't wait to see Sharapova win against serena again. Don't forget Maria beat Serena when Serena was in top form on top of her career; yet, serena made excuses at that time also.
Kudos to Maria! she's beautiful AND powerful. What a fabulous combination.

That was the first time ever I've witnessed Serena, not show gracefulness even in defeat. It seemed she was in a bad mood from the start of the match. No one is upbeat and cheerful all the time. Most great players take losing very hard even though they might put on a pleasant face during post interview. But I watched that post interview with Serena, and I never heard her make any excuse, in fact,when asked of her does she have any injuries she without hesitation said " no" and went on to say that she didn't know why she played so poorly in the tie break and that she would have to view the tape. Every great competitor hate to lose more than anything and even when they manage to put on a happy face during the post interview I would bet my last money that's A time you don't want to be near any of them including Sharapova when the cams are not on them. Let me add , I know you said the Williams sisters,but I believe we all know that you're referring to Serena's post press conference vs Sharapova's. I don't think it would be fair to give Serena or lets say,the williams sisters that bad rap based on one incident...Do You ???

hands down, maria's more sport than both venus and serena. but to rank all three, it will be maria, venus, and serena on rock bottom. she doesn't know how to accept defeat from a great player like justine.
