We use "AUNT FLOW" to refer to our menstrual periods. What else can we use, and also, what is there to use to refer to the vagina?

My grandmother used to call the vagina "cookie" or "pocketbook". She called the period "friend" as in "my friend is visiting me". These terms are all a little arcane and a bit immature though. I would think in these times we could refer to these things by the proper medical term without any embarassment.

How about......"menstrual cycle' and um, oh yea, "vagina". A menstrual cycle is a sign of a girl becoming of age and maturing. Therefore, act the part and stop calling it little 5 year old names. Use the proper mature terms.

It's gross, but we used to break into the song "Red River Valley" when I was in school. We still refer to the private area as Miss Suzy.

I use 'Painters and Decorators', or 'my old friend'. I don't call the vagina anything other than the vagina though, sorry!

How about saying period and vagina? If you have your period, you are adult enough to use the real words.
