I think Italy. Even though I have been completely shamed by my horrendous Italian, the northern part has a long tradition of interaction with Austria and Germany and you can get around quite well with German.
And some of my family from Germany is very familiar with Italy so I would have great tour guides and we are planning to go when I go back to Germany.
