Well Grado do the GS1000 which is £1000 ($2028). But then it really depends what country you buy them from. I have a set of Sennheiser HD650 and although £200 they are amazing!!
I'll sell you a set of standad iPod headphones for £10,000 if you like, then they can officially be the most expensive pair ever!!

Hi. The best headphones are the STAX ELECTROSTATICS. The model STAX SR-007 -2 is priced at $3,750.00 I don't know if they are the most expensive headphones but they have no rival when it comes to sound quality.They have been making electrostatic headphones for more than 40 years.
