In sex ed, our professor taught us that it doesn't matter who you sleep with, it's what gender you PREFER to be with that determines your sexual orientation. She prefers men over women but likes them both, so would you consider her BI or straight?

No, your professor is incorrect. Let me give you an example -- my mother has not dated anyone in over 20 years. Although she is still attracted to men, she prefers to not have sex. This doesn't mean she has no sexual orientation.

A person is bisexual if they are attracted to and respond sexually to members of both sexes. And if she sleeps with women, sounds like she's responding pretty strongly.

Long story short, your friend's bi.

I would consider her bi.

What I think maybe the professor was referring to was a situation in which (for example) a man was married and only had sex with his wife but was attracted to and wanted to have sex with other men. In that case I believe this man is really gay but is not currently sleeping with a man.

sure at as quickly as adult males do each so often sleep with gay adult males. I even have been advised first hand via an exceedingly close male pal of mine who's gay. He has slept with some. they have often been youthful adult males who're curious, and that i think people who do in all danger supply it a bypass and locate out what it extremely is like which possibly is greater powerful than constantly thinking.

Why are you asking...? ;)
**Hehe, I believe a person that is SEXUALLY attracted to both sexes is bisexual. Just because she prefers one sex more doesn't mean she's is only attracted to that gender only; it just means she's had better experiences with them ;)
However, if she only enjoys looking at women and not touching them, she might just be curious...
Hope it helps!!! xOx

Your professor is wrong. That's wrong with the educational system. Too much opinion. Because when you are having sexual relations or pursuing someone, you are using your instincts and attractions and you are BEING WITH that person - male or female. Your friend is simply confused and trash.

Its not which gender you prefer to be with, its what gender(s) you are attracted to.

If she is truely attracted to women, then she is bi.
